Since my foot surgery, my main source of getting around has been my office chair-it has wheels! But from this different perspective I have also seen just how dirty things around my house are. The handles on the refrigerator, the underside of the microwave, the top of the water dispenser….ugh! At any rate, I’ve had a small taste of what it must be like to be wheel chair bound. I know that my time is very limited and not even close to the same, but it’s been interesting to see what it’s like being pushed to the toilet, washing hands from the chair, rolling over carpet. Everyone’s been super nice to help me and even entertain me. (The doc said I should really milk it!) But I know that it can hard when you are looking at things from this perspective.
I had been looking for a part time job to help supplement some of the things our kids want to do. And if my daughter goes into public high school, I will have some time during the day to work. But it has been a while since I’ve had a “real job”. My resume is pretty weak, and I really wasn’t even sure how to go about putting one together and what all to put on it after this long of not working. I did find some sample resumes online which helped a lot in me getting my current resume in order. It has not been particularly easy to find the kind of job I want. I did apply for two but they are both nights and weekends, which sort of defeats my purpose. I have not given up completely, I just know it will take time
