Political leaders seem to be nearly universally corrupt, sports figures are always in trouble with the law, extreme permissiveness seems to get the attention if not approval of the media, advertising is mostly lies and spin, etc. The values of society in general have changed dramatically and in my opinion, not for the better. Somehow, getting together like you did with your friend before she moved away seems harder and harder to do. It's wonderful when such relationships click and people can talk about mutual concerns. I wish they scheduling those kinds of times was easier so they just more naturally happened rather than having to pencil people in on the calendar amongst the thousand other things competing for everyone's ttime.
