My daughter started a new book today, Tuck Everlasting. I really like this book (more so than the movie.) I hope she enjoys it as well. I think she will. It raises the question of “What would it be like to live forever? What would it really be like?” Now I just need to get her activity packet together. The way she reads, she’ll be done in a day or two!

Did she like it as much as you thought (and I think) she would?

By the way, just signed up for a lunar pages account under you. It should give you some benefit, I think/hope. I’ll let you know more about my site when it is set up.

she did like it, but not as much as I thought she would (or at least is not acting that way)
thanks for signing up under me! can’t wait to see your site. I know it will be great!
sorry for the slow responses, we are still getting intermittent internet service. they said that our area is still “restricted from work orders” as they are having to replace so many lines with completely new ones….

Hi, I’ve just wanted to congratulate you on achieving a PR3 ranking. Well done.
As for the Truck Everlasting, I must say that I have never heard of it. What age group is it aimed at?
Funny that it is about immortality as I am an immortal in a series of posts that I am planning.

it’s for kids/young adults. it has also been made into a movie, but the book is better. in this book, the Tuck family finds themselves never growing older and never getting killed. they figure out how it happened and another child comes along who faces her chance to immortalize herself. it’s a pretty good story.

Sounds like something that I would like to read, and I must apologize for saying truck, instead of Tuck…..must be a male thing.

Like Sire, I wasn’t aware of the book until you mentioned it. Now, I’m going out to Amazon to see what it’s all about.

Hello, I just finished reading Tuck Everlasting, so stop reading this if you haven’t. I think it was a GREAT book and a terific ending. I am glad Winnie never drank from the spring and used it up on the toad. I would not drink it if I was in that situation. Living forever would get so boring after a while. All your friends/family would get old or die. They would think you were possesed by the devil or something. Meanwhile, you would be the same age.

thanks for stopping by Dorothy. I like this book too! I am glad she chose not to drink it. I don’t know if living would get boring, but I think it would get depressing! and I don’t know what age would be the best age to drink it, if you were going to drink it (something my daughter and I discussed)
