Yes, there is a storm brewing in the Gulf. Yes, we know it is projected to hit land just a few miles from us. No, we are not leaving. We are far enough inland that we think we’ll be ok. Just lots of wind and rain. We did not even board up our windows for this one. After leaving before Rita hit, we are hoping to never have to repeat that again. We hope that Edouard comes for a brief visit, passing over rather quickly. We’ll be praying that he can gather no strength and will move on by before tomorrow is over….

    I remember some years back being home from college when a hurricane passed through the area. It was a small one, as hurricanes go. Some of us stayed back after church that night and played cards, and when we went home during the early morning hours, the only way you knew a storm had passed through was the wet, messy roads. There was no real damage, just a lot of debris from the trees on the ground.

    was very small and quiet, just some rain and a little wind. not even really any messy streets. we were very blessed this time around!
