There are really two types of remote access to consider. Anytime access or on-demand access. Anytime access provides people with the real time management you described where as on-demand access offers the ability to confidently receive support when needed but not feel threatened by unwanted or unauthorized remote access. On-demand access requires the user to request the remote access from the IT staff rather than potentially exposing their machine to undetected or unwanted access.

Security is more than 256-bit encryption. Logging, user acknowledgement, Active Directory integration and controlled access via passwords and Gateway keys may also be required.

NetSupport offers both anytime and on-demand access thru its NetSupport Manager or NetSupport 247 products. It's good to have options!
